HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY! I feel like I'm walking on the world. WOMEN ARE AWESOME! Females have worked so hard throughout the years to be where they are now. I'm proud of my gender and want to be the best lady I can be! Girls, don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something. Girls can do anything boys can do, in fact, us girls can do it better ;)
Today means a lot to me. Lately I have been sad about life and boys. I think it's lame to be sad about that stuff, but I'm a girl so of course it's bound to happen sometime. However, these past two days have been the best. I've been asking myself: why am I so worried about boys? The answer to that is simple: STOP. It doesn't matter. I promise worrying about a boy isn't worth your time. Never change for someone just to please them. Never worry about impressing a boy. The only approval you need is from yourself. If you're constantly worrying about what they'll think and doubting you're good enough for them, clearly they're not the one for you. I've learned from past heartbreaks to just get up and get over it. It definitely takes time and is a lot easier said than done, but it is 100% doable. We all get hurt, but not everyone knows how to deal with it. I'm not a relationship expert at all. I'm actually far from it. I just know that no matter how much your heart can ache, it can always be fixed. Cry, take some time to be sad. Then put on some fresh makeup and OWN THE WORLD! Make today the first day of your new life and enjoy being a woman because we are freaking awesome. If women are capable of going through the worst pain in the world (giving birth) then we can certainly deal with a heartbreak. They just make us stronger- so don't let any boy bring you down.
I got to interview Cat Palmer, a photographer in SLC, Utah, for a school assignment today. Cat told me she wanted to be known through her work for empowering women, and that is exactly what she is doing. Talking with her ended up being the best way to spend my International Women's Day. Not only does she empower women to own up to their strengths, but she recognizes the beauty in every single girl she works with. No matter what size, height, or ethnicity you are, you are beautiful! You should hear that everyday because whoever is reading this right now: YOU LOOK GOOOOOD! Cat told me, "Everyone is different, everyone is beautiful." I am a huge fan of Cat's and I love that she strives to inspire women to be proud of themselves, their bodies, and show people who view her art that women are amazing.
I hope every girl out there knows their worth and their beauty. Of course both genders are as equally important, but sometimes females get looked down upon, and they need to know to keep their heads up high. Ladies, go move mountains today because women throughout history have worked so hard to be able to give us the privileges and chances we have today. We shouldn't take advantage of all the hard work that has happened for us. We need to continue to make history even better for future females and make every second we live better for ourselves right now. Enjoy your day and make it count!

Take That Extra Piece of Cake
I've always thought of myself as an independent person. I don't have a problem doing things by myself, I actually prefer it often. I want to go to college, get a degree, and have a successful career. I want to see the world and live my life without being tied down. I will provide for myself and be able to stand on my own. I have said I'm not going to marry anyone until I'm 30 haha. My parents think that's funny because I'm "boy crazy". Honestly. What does that even mean?! Boys are cute, but ugh.
The world is obsessed with telling people what kind of relationships they should have and labelling them as "Relationship goals". Right now the best relationships I have are with three things: my family, my bed, and my dog. What else could I need? The media fools people, even myself sometimes, that we only matter if we have a significant other to tell us so. UM what! That is not true at all. I matter, my dog agrees, and she loves me more than any boy ever could!
Why are we so worried about finding someone to love? The most important person to love is ourselves; and I will do that before I love anyone else. It's not being selfish or heartless, we just deserve that love before anyone else's. If we don't accept and love ourselves, we'll be too reliant on other people to make us happy and feel good. What if you break up with that boy you're head over heels for, and suddenly without him, you forget your worth. Don't do that! Breakups are going to happen, but don't break up with yourself (lol). Don't let yourself forget your worth, even without someone else to tell you so. Tell yourself you are worth that extra piece of cake and don't let someone ruin your dessert for you!
We don't need other people to remind us of how awesome we are. We are awesome all by ourselves. Listen to the word of Justin Bieber and go "love yourself".
